Leslie Rigdon

Session #1: Recruiting Allies of Color

Leslie Rigdon joined the organization Heart of Missouri CASA in 2010 by becoming a volunteer
advocate for children in foster care. For 6 years, Leslie served on 5 cases, giving children a voice
and hope during the court process. She was successful in her advocacy role by remaining with
the organization and continuing her advocacy for children until 2016. Leslie then joined the
Heart of Missouri CASA team as an Advocate Supervisor. Her main roles as an Advocate
Supervisor are to train and support volunteers to be the best advocates possible in speaking up
for children in foster care. Leslie finds a true passion in speaking up on someone’s behalf where
they may not feel they have a voice.
