Session #4: Humanity in Faith or Faith in Humanity?
Rabbi Phil Cohen is a graduate of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He holds a Ph.D. in Jewish thought from Brandeis University and an MFA in fiction from Spalding University in Louisville. He is the interim rabbi at Congregation Beth Shalom. His interests include theology, bioethics, Bible, Jewish history, and American-Jewish fiction. He is lately interested in the post-WWII development of interfaith relations. His novel Nick Bones Underground won a Finalist Award from the Jewish Book Council for Debut Novel.
Phil is married to Betsy Gamburg and is the proud father of Elly and Talia and the amazed grandfather of Ava Ruth, who sometimes calls him Tony.
