Fireside Chat: Cancelling and Boundary Setting While Sitting with Trauma and Privilege
Cancel Culture can be about power -- who's used to having it, who's trying to be heard. It also can be a response to trauma or a sign of shifting culture. To 'cancel' people that have ideas, opinions, and thoughts different from your own can lead to confirmation bias. Is cancelling people a way of setting a boundary? Is the end goal to be a more equitable society, and are we able to do that with cancelling people and places?
