Dr. Eryca Neville
Principal at Frederick Douglass High School with Columbia Public Schools
Dr. Eryca Neville is the Director of Alternative Education for Columbia Public Schools and Principal of Frederick Douglass High School. Prior to this assignment Eryca was an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Teacher Education Program at the University of Missouri; where she graduated with two Bachelor Degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Marketing and Economics. She also has a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, an Ed.Sp. in Educational Administration and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.
Prior to working at the University of Missouri, Eryca owned and operated Bright Ideas Home Daycare. Her over twenty years of experience in education and consulting inspired and subsequently fueled a desire to mentor and develop others, which in turn easily transitioned into her current professional and volunteer interests.
Dr. Neville is a member of various community-based and professional organizations, including Board Member of Inclusive Impact Institute, Board Member of the Heart of Missouri United Way, a former Board Member of the Diversity Awareness Program and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma
society. She has received several honors and awards, which include, Grand Marshal of the Black and White Ball Parade, NAACP Outstanding Educator, Vocational Service Award, and the Division of Student Affairs Excellence in Education Award.
She was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation for Rotary International. Vox Magazine featured her on the cover in March, 2019, Run the World: Five Leaders Make Their Mark on Columbia. In October of 2013, she was on the cover and featured in Columbia Home Magazine as one of the Women
Eryca has three children. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
