Stacye Smith, CPCU, CCP, CDP
Director of Human Resources at Shelter Insurance Companies
Stacye is a Columbia native who graduated from Rock Bridge High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Stephens College. She has been employed with Shelter Insurance Companies since 1987 and has held several positions with the company in the areas of Underwriting, Training and Human Resources. She is currently the Director of Human Resources and in this capacity is responsible for Employee Relations, Compensation, Performance Management, Recruitment, Community Events, and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
She is a member of Shelter’s Strategic Advisory Group, which provides leadership and direction to Shelter’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She also coordinates Shelter’s Diversity Internship Program and has mentored many interns. Stacye serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia, the Columbia African American Association, and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Matters of Social Justice Committee.
Stacye is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) and a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) through the Society for Diversity. She is also a Certified Diversity FaciliTrainer (CDFT) through NCCJ St. Louis. She utilizes her diversity, inclusion and social equity expertise to facilitate conversations at Shelter and in the community.
She has been awarded the Columbia Values Diversity Individual Award and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for service to her community.
