About the position

Essential Duties

  • Provides support to the Corporate Diversity Committee and Employee Resource groups.

  • Works with the Director of Human Resources to direct corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Responsible for outreach efforts and relationships with diversity-related organizations.

  • Assists the Strategic Advisory Group by providing information and data to include in annual report to executive leadership on progress of the company's diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Works with Training and Development to integrate Diversity and Inclusion knowledge into Training curriculum.

  • Collaborates with all departments to develop a cohesive and targeted approach to enhance Shelter's diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Leads Shelter's participation in third-party diversity-related surveys to drive external reputation.

  • Builds employee awareness through communications and employee participation.

  • Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Human Resources.

Training

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, human resources or related field.

Experience

  • Two to three years of related human resources experience or experience with diversity programs preferred.

  • Two years of management-level experience and Human Resources or Diversity education or certification desired.

Responsibilities/Principal Accountabilities

  • Accountable for working with Shelter groups as well as external contacts and groups to coordinate various Diversity and Inclusion initiatives to align with Shelter's strategic plan.

  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of related data and trends to assist with coordinating Diversity and Inclusion efforts.
